User Reactions to the iOS 26.4 Autocorrect Update
The most recent iOS 26.4 beta has been made available for download by Apple.
According to Apple, the update improves keyboard accuracy during fast typing.
The latest update from Apple, iOS 26.4, has finally addressed one of the most frustrating issues long-time users of the iPhone have complained about: autocorrect.
For years, autocorrect on iPhone has been both helpful and irritating—fixing typos while sometimes creating entirely new mistakes. With iOS 26.4, Apple promises smarter predictions, improved contextual understanding, and fewer embarrassing text errors.
But while the update marks a significant improvement, one annoying problem still remains—and users are definitely noticing.
Apple appears to have addressed this annoying problem with the release of the iOS 26.4 beta. The update notes mention “improved keyboard accuracy when typing quickly,” though some iOS 26 typing issues may still remain.

The iOS 26.4 update is widely expected to fix the long-standing issue of missing characters while typing. For users who have struggled with this problem when sending messages, the update could bring a noticeable improvement.
That said, early testing suggests the typing experience isn’t entirely flawless yet. A persistent issue involving the emoji button appears to remain. When typing at speed, the emoji key can fail to respond, a problem that has also been mentioned by users across social media platforms. One Reddit user, for example, described the bug as extremely frustrating.
During testing, tapping the emoji icon while typing quickly often resulted in the 123/ABC key being triggered instead. The emoji button only worked correctly after pausing, which interrupts the natural typing flow.
While these findings are based on individual experience, they indicate that iOS 26.4 may not have fully resolved all keyboard-related bugs. It’s likely that Apple will continue refining these issues in future updates.
